I love the Book of Mormon

Dear Family,
..................... I am staying – will let you know next week about my companion since I don’t have any details yet.

This upcoming week we are going to be moving two Missionary apartments, one in Hope, Arkansas and one in Oxford, Mississippi.  So two whole days will be spent traveling and moving. But from what I have heard Oxford has some really beautiful areas, so that could make for some good photos.

As I have been reading the Book of Mormon again my goal has been to have a spiritual experience with every chapter that I read. And so far it has worked, even though it may take me an additional 20 minutes to look through it again to receive some personal revelation but it has really worked and I have learned so much more this way from the Book of Mormon. I love the Book of Mormon so much - it has brought so much comfort and peace on my mission. The Book of Mormon combined with the Spirit is the best tool that we as Missionaries and member missionaries have.

Here is a cool verse I just found this past week from the Book of Mormon for Missionaries and member missionaries alike:
1 Nephi 13: 37 " And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be"

So make sure you do missionary work.

I hope y'all will have a great week, best of luck with everything this week!!!!!!!

Wonderful family

Dear Family,

Well, our top investigator is doing great. We had really good lesson with her this past Tuesday and we also were able to teach her mother and father about the Plan of Salvation.  It went really well.  Wonderful family  ...we love them.  We have only taught them twice but they have really opened up to us.  We set a baptismal date for June 9th.  She comes to church every week and is such a good example.

Thanks for sending me out that new suit, I'll be looking forward to wearing it.

I'm glad y'all got to see that talk about Grace, it was brilliant.  As I watched it during our Zone Conference, I felt the spirit so strong testifying to me of the reality and power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Next week I'll find out if I'm getting transferred or not.

Kayla, keep working hard and never give up, nothing that is worth it will ever be easy, so keep pressing forward.

Have a great week y'all and mom I’m glad your birthday went well:)

Atonement week

Dear Family,
Last week was up and down and overall was not very successful.  We had to go to Memphis in Tennessee and a city of Jacksonville in Arkansas to move two sets of Elders into new apartments - this is our ongoing chore because we have the truck and are the closest area to the Mission Office.

This week Elder Bluth and I are hoping to set some baptismal dates with the few of our investigator.  So we expect a successful week.
Brother Floyd is coming down from Memphis to hang out with us today for our P-Day. I worked with him a lot when I was in Frayser area, since he was our Ward's High Councilor and Elder Bluth's dad baptized him about 37 years ago. It is going to be fun:)

I hope you enjoy participating in the Atonement week because I know I will, and let it change our lives and develop a more personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

LOVE Y'ALL and say hi for me to everyone back home, and tell grandma thanks for the package - it turned out great and so did yours!

Love,
Elder Wawro

Things are moving forward

Dear Family,

I forgot to mention in my last week’s email that I was assigned to speak in Sacrament meeting here in my new Ward.  Unfortunately we did not have any investigators come to Church nor did our planned baptism go through this week.  However the two baptisms in my old Ward went well and I got to speak at the Baptismal Service.

I'm losing some weight, I have lost 10 pounds since I have been here and I actually ran 2 miles the other morning in 15 minutes and 36 seconds, so not bad for a guy who had gained some weight, right?

I am amazed at how much potential for successful Missionary work this area has.  Things are moving forward and this week could really start it off with a blast, so I am anticipating to be emailing you a lot of good news next week.

You can send the packages and all the mail to my Mission Office while I am in this area.  Thank you for all you packages, letters, emails, gifts and support.

I really liked the pictures you have send  ...I know, I know - l need to start taking more pictures.

I love you all so much.

Love,
Elder Wawro
